Vision and Purpose

The Lord placed in our hearts a vision for a traveling teaching ministry focusing on those who are separated and divorced called New Day Christian Education, Inc. The purpose is to help those separated and divorced within the church and societies at large become whole or truly “single” again.  Due to the tragic impact of separation and divorce, people are sometimes left hurting, lost, and disjointed for years.  Our goal is to help them transition through the process in a much shorter time so they can get back to living stronger and fulfilled lives. We will provide the proper tools and wisdom for continued growth and stability. We will attend to their spiritual and natural needs by addressing the following topics: salvation and dependence on Jesus, what the Bible says about separation and divorce, handling finances, mental and emotional well-being, dealing with legal matters, effects on the children, dating again, remarriage, and more.

Luke 4:18-19: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, ¹⁹To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. We will host seminars and workshops, as well as accept opportunities to speak at church conferences, revivals, and other engagements. Later, we will submit weekly talks or discussions on YouTube (and other forms of media) for ongoing support and growth.

Our desire is to share the good news of life in Jesus, and that separation and divorce is not the end of you…it’s a New Day!

About the

Wholeness Coaches

Merlin and Shawner English are passionate about helping people move forward in their lives to a place of wholeness. Having been divorced after long-term relationships, both of them understand all too well how difficult a failed relationship can be on the individuals involved, their family and friends, and other social and work circles.

Merlin and Shawner are very involved in their local church, Koinonia Christian Center (KCC), under the leadership of Bishop Rosie S. O’neal. Shawner has been an ordained minister since 1996, and both of them serve as deacons to help care for the membership. In addition they co-lead a separated and divorced ministry at KCC.

As for additional experience, Merlin spent over 30 years in corporate America in management and finance, while Shawner’s experience has been in finance and education. Shawner is a licensed insurance professional and holds a Master’s in education. Their experience, degrees, and call to ministry qualify them to help people move forward in their lives to a place of wholeness in relationships, finance, family, work life and more. Ultimately, it is Merlin and Shawner’s love for God and God’s people that causes them to desire to see people whole and fulfilling their purpose in life.
